Hello,I am Sam and this is my short story. I have been in the in Ltl freight business for the last ten years.Working my way up the corporate ladder,from operations supervisor to manager.Unfortunately,the company I was working for started to down size.I was not able to avoid the third wave of cuts.So,here I am taking full advantage of my free time to further my education.I have two beautiful daughters.I am proud to mention my oldest daughter started to attend PCCC this fall.
My strategies for this semester will be to try to be on time. It is important because in those five to ten minutes that I am late to class I can miss important information that I will need. Also I would ask for help if I need it because when it comes to testing I’m going to have to know what I am doing. I can’t just assume or act like I know because it’s going to hurt me later on. Also I would study and do my homework so I can get credit for it. It would also help me out with my final grade to and studying would keep me prepare for my exams to be able to get the grade need to pass. To me these strategies are important to succeed in this course.
My strategies for this semester are, always be on time, be prepared and have a clear mind, my reason for a clear mind is because I wonna come to school to focuse on what my lecture will be for that day, not focusing on if my husband took the kids a bath or threw the garbage out. My main strategie will be "STRIVE FOR THE STARS".
MY strategies for this semester are to be on time, stay focus in and out side of class, and to absorbe as much as possible in this semester. These are a must for me because I am the first in my household to go college and I want to set the bar high for my younger brothers.
My first strategy is to get organized.its important to set a space and time for studies. especially if you have kids.the second would be to get into the habit of shutting off cellphone when doing homework. this will avoid distractions.but, most important attend class everyday and be on time.this shows how dedicated and resposible person you can be. I want to do everything in my power to get thru this semester, so I can get the feel of it and know what's expected for the years to come in college. I waited 10 years to finally come back and get a degree. Quitting is not an option for me.

I like your startegie is so true when your mind is somewhere else there is no way to be able to concentrate. Happens to me a lot when i have alot of things going on in my mind.

The three strategies I’m going to be using this semester is to be on time, listen and learn. You cannot listen to the main topic of the day, if you not going to be on time. Therefore, you will not be able to comprehend properly and learn from it.
Fatima, Being on time for class is very important because it sets the tone for the rest of the class. If you are late for class you will miss valuable notes and announcements. Good points.
Ilda, Setting a schedule and knowing where you are going to do your school work is important. You need to find a place that is quiet and with few distractions. Good ideas.
To Everyone, You all had some great ideas and strategies for how you are going to succeed. There are some that I think everyone should consider.
1. I will ask for help when I need it. 2. I will come prepared. 3. When I am absent I will take responsibility and get my work that I missed before the next class. 4. I will submit my papers to E-Tutoring or go to the writing and math labs for help. 5. I will use the word processor before sending emails and anything that others will read.
Number five is important. You need to proofread and you need to run spell check. Check out some of your blogs above. There are some big sentence construction errors that need to be caught/corrected.
Now let us all commit ourselves to this class and all the doors that it can open.
